I believe that Reflexology is a holistic approach that can benefit individuals at every stage of life, including expectant mothers. My specialised pregnancy Reflexology treatments in Roscam, Galway, offer a gentle and nurturing experience, focusing on the Well-Being of both the mother and the growing baby.

Is Reflexology safe during Pregnancy?

Yes, Reflexology is totally safe and beneficial during pregnancy. Reflexology during pregnancy is a soothing and drug-free approach that can address various aspects of Well-Being, making the journey to motherhood more comfortable.

Although there is a small risk of miscarriage in any pregnancy there is no evidence that reflexology can cause a miscarriage or increase the risk. If you are concerned about any risk, you can schedule your Reflexology after the first trimester for your peace of mind.

Many women find the support reflexology offers of great benefit at this time.

I am trained in Maternity Reflexology and am happy to help you on your fertility and pregnancy journey.

How Reflexology Can Benefit Expectant Mothers

Reflexology during pregnancy is a soothing and drug-free approach that can address various aspects of Well-Being, making the journey to motherhood more comfortable:

  • Morning Sickness: Reflexology can help alleviate the discomfort of morning sickness, providing relief from nausea and queasiness.

  • Constipation: Gentle Reflexology techniques can promote better digestion and regular bowel movements, reducing the discomfort of constipation often experienced during pregnancy.

  • Sleep Issues: Many expectant mothers struggle with sleep disturbances during pregnancy. Reflexology can enhance relaxation and improve sleep patterns, leading to more restful nights.

  • Soothes Aches & Pains: As the body undergoes changes to accommodate the growing baby, it's common to experience aches and pains. Reflexology can provide relief from these discomforts, helping you feel more comfortable.

  • Anxiety about Birthing: Pregnancy can be a time of increased anxiety about the birthing process. Reflexology offers relaxation and emotional support, helping to reduce anxiety and promote a sense of calm and Well-Being.
What to Bring for Your Reflexology Session During Pregnancy

To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable Reflexology experience during pregnancy, please consider the following suggestions:

  • Wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your feet. This ensures a smooth transition into the Reflexology treatment without any discomfort.

  • You'll be seated in a specially designed Reflexology Chair for ultimate comfort. The chair reclines, ensuring your feet are perfectly positioned for the session.

  • I will have a glass of water on hand for you to stay hydrated during the session, as adequate hydration is essential during pregnancy.

  • My treatment room offers a soothing atmosphere where I play relaxing music, having plenty of pillows and warm blankets to hand. However, feel free to bring any items that help you relax, such as your favourite pillow, a blanket, or a soothing music playlist.

  • Creating a cosy and familiar atmosphere can enhance your overall experience.
